CARING FOR YOUR ZYGOPETALUM
INDOOR CULTIVATION
TEMPERATURE:
We would recommend temperatures around 18-35oC in the summer, and 7-24oC in the winter with a significant night time drop in temperature.
LIGHT:
Your Zygo will be happiest in good light, but not in direct sunlight. 50% shade is just about right.
WATERING:
Always use rainwater! Water thoroughly from the top and leave to drain. The best time would be in the morning so that the foliage will have plenty of time to dry before temperatures cool. Never let it stand in excess water.
HUMIDITY:
Good air movement is extremely helpful. This will dry the leaves after watering.
POTTING:
This should be carried out between March and June, usually every other year. Use bark/ sphagnum moss mix. We offer a repotting service for £5 per plant/division. Email us at Sales@mcbeans.com to book.
FEEDING:
Feed your plant regularly when you water – every few waterings, leave out the fertiliser to allow any salts to be washed away. You can buy our year bundle here.
HINT:
If you have a strong healthy Zygo with a new pseudobulb that is reluctant to flower, try placing the plant in a cool room for a couple weeks when a new growth is beginning to emerge.
