CARING FOR YOUR DENDROBIUM NOBILE

INDOOR CULTIVATION

TEMPERATURE:

This plant grows best in daytime temperatures up to 20°C (68°F) with nights not below 13°C (55°F). It needs a cool period of about 8°C (48°F) during the winter for about three months to produce good flowers. It loves an airy position but avoid drafts and do not place near a radiator.

LIGHT:

Provide your plant with bright, filtered light throughout the year.

WATERING:

Water freely while the plant is growing in spring and summer. Water from the top and allow to drain thoroughly. Reduce watering during its cool period.

HUMIDITY:

If in a dry atmosphere, stand your plant on a moist gravel tray to create a micro climate and assist growth.

FEEDING:

Dendrobium benefit from regular feeding. Include orchid fertiliser in three out of four waterings during spring and summer.

POTTING:

Repot every two to three years when not in flower. Use an orchid mix that includes medium grade bark.

AFTER FLOWERING:

Remove dried-up flowers. Do not cut down the canes. Position the plant in a light, airy spot during its cool period.

Plant not for consumption!
