The Phalaenopsis or Moth Orchid is a native of South East Asia and the Indian sub-continent. There are over 30,000 different types of hybrid Phalaenopsis in most colours. It is one of the most popular orchids because it grows well in out central-heated homes.
- Grow plant at room temperature (18-28 oC) in normal room light but with a slightly elevated level of humidity
- They need a little rainwater once a week to thrive
- The ‘Moth Orchid’ has no annual rhythm so will flower for two or three months at a time
- Once flowers die, cut back stem above the node and your orchid should flower again after another two or three months
